The atlanta humane society (ahs) is a nonprofit organization that’s been atlanta’s main animal charity for more than 140 years. Donations from foundations, corporations, organizations and individuals enabled us to build the elk county humane society with much of the work being donated also. Cats older than 6 months are $115, younger than 6 months are $135 and all dogs are $250.

Puppy adoption atlanta humane society. Available pet adoptions may vary. The more we socialize, train and teach our shelter animals the more likely they are to get adopted and not return to us. But ahs isn't the only animal shelter or dog adoption center in the atlanta area.

The shelter has 24 dog kennels and 44 cats pens, a puppy room and a medical room. You can browse all the dogs and puppies currently available for adoption below. We operate out of three locations in metro atlanta and help find nearly 10,000 animals loving homes each year.

Our foster program allows us to rescue more animals, and it also gives us the opportunity to better socialize and learn about the pets in. Adoption of a pet from the atlanta humane society provides a wonderful animal with a safe shelter and a loving environment. I recently adopted cochise, a small rottweiler mix puppy from the atlanta humane society and i had to pick him up from the clinic.

Located in northeast florida, our shelter is jacksonville's premiere pet adoption facility. We’re currently doing adoptions two different ways depending on if an animal is physically housed at Furkids dog shelter saves hundreds of homeless dogs each year that are in need of caring, lifelong homes.

Since ahs was first established over a century ago, it’s grown into a combination vet center, educational resource, and pet adoption center all in one, finding thousands of permanent homes for dogs and cats each year.
