This is a difficult target as it has a very bright core and a very dim outer ring. One of the brightest objects of its type its resemblance to a cats eye is due to a series of gas loops that have been ejected by the central star over the past 1000 years or so. It sits 3300 light years from us and contains some mysteries that remain unexplained today.
